Welcome to Year 6! The class is taught by Mrs Farr and supported by Mrs Haffenden, our HLTA. We have an exciting time in Year 6 as we busily prepare for our SATs and transition to Secondary school, with memorable leavers celebrations. Over the year, we go on local trips, for example to Dover Castle, a Residential in June and some great opportunities to attend community days at Tonbridge School. Our topics over the year are Geography, History or Science based and the children are involved in developing questions to investigate. We study the impact of World War Two on Kent; understand how ancient civilisations have shaped the way we live today; study evolution and inheritance; investigate adaptation and design experiments to further understand electricity.
What a wet and windy start to our second day! Some activities had to be changed as it was unsafe to abseil in such strong winds - but we still had lots of fun. We have completed assault courses, been on a sensory trail, learned how to fence, been canoeing and built more rafts! We got very wet and cold, but happy to say we are now warm and dry, and enjoyed a delicious dinner. Tomorrow is bound to be exciting with abseiling and the Trapeze!
